Only if the company makes money and only if you are the top performer on the team will you get an annual bonus payout. Annual performance raises are not annual, but more like every 18 months if we are lucky. I have averaged 1.1% per year performance raise over a 10 year period even with satisfactory or above annual ratings.

Shrinking markets and massive debt soon to be on the books I'd expect the norm to be annual reduction of bonus %.
