Went from zero out of pocket expenses to $5k per year before deductibles were met. Not unreasonable, but you practically need a benefits advocate to make sense of (and dispute where needed) charges and payments owed out of pocket. This used to be MIcrosoft's big draw, now benefits are a headache.

Excellent and cutting edge health benefits

It used to be great - everything paid and nothing to worry about. Then, after the Affordable Care Act, employees had copays and had to track bills. It became a big headache - distracting from the work. I understand most places do this, but it was a big step down from the previous health care at Microsoft.

No benefit for spouses really

Pretty comprehensive, though not as good as before.

It used to be 100% paid by company but now there is sharing of expenses but still better than most other plans.

Excellent coverage and contributions to your HSA.

They covered my wife's hearing aids which I hear is very uncommon in the benefit packages out there.
