The stock option was a major surprise when it was first given. I really liked it. The bad news was it was extremely complicated, and I never really felt like I understood it. Further, you lose your current year's stock option if you leave the company before a certain date, meaning you may feel forced to stay long after you get better offers or want to go back to college
