Walgreens employees who work 30+ hours per week can choose between two health insurance plans. Comprehensive health, dental and vision plans are available to employees for themselves and their dependents. Employees may choose to enroll in one of two Walgreens Consumer Driven Health Plans, which include an account called a Health Reimbursement Account to help pay for our employees’ healthcare needs. Employees can also choose between two dental programs with the Select option including Adult and Child orthodontia. A competitive and national vision program is also available. 2015 benefits will consist of a wide variety of medical, dental and vision options open to employees at the beginning of the new year.

Walgreens is self insured meaning employees medical expenses are paid by Walgreens directly. Health insurance company administer the plan. I have learnt that because my medical claims were paid inconsistently from 2016, insurance company does not deny the claim but put it in process for4 years to buy time to give them chances to play the time game in legal situation. After 10 hours a week of working on getting the claims paid, Walgreens provided false documents to deny the claims with US department of labor forwarded on the case, One day plan representative promise to pay if documents are submitted, then allege the insured did not file claims and saying document submitted was inaccurate. The tactic is to play mental games to cause emotional disturbance and cause harm to employee's mental health so they can gave tge employee to give us, thus they avoid payment. On the same procedure, same provider, they paid for 30% of the claims then failed to pay the rest. Plan benefit repressive discriminate payment against my gender, ethnicity, age and health condition. Walgreens insinuated that US department of labor will not protect just one person from discriminated against her age and ethnicity, and US department of labor lied because the government is there for big corporations not ensure individuals civil rights. Walgreens used 4 years of time window to play this game instead of provide plan benefit and reason for no payment, they gave false hopes and told me none of the claim and appeal process means anything. I followed every process and provided every document, but the process is just for showing, They believe that US department of labor is on the side of a large corporation, not for small individuals. regardless the fact that Walgreens have settled several multi million dollars fraudulent health care legal cases their plan benefit continually provide false evidence.

There are many plans to choose from; some with limited coverage or high deductibles that are reasonably inexpensive, all the way up to comprehensive plans that are more expensive. You get a credit from the company so a portion of the premiums are covered. Silver plans cost around $30 per pay period (every 2 weeks), while Gold plans may cost over $100.

Good HSA option; unfortunately all plans are relatively high deductible

It's gotten more expensive each year as Walgreens has scaled back their contribution. Deductibles are high

Walgreens has terrific health insurance. The best part is, if you are picking up a prescription at Walgreens, they all only cost $5.
