The actual process was straight forward. There was a phone screen with talent acquisition, a video interview with the hiring manager, a homework assignment, and an in person interview followed by lunch.
The reason for the negative review is due to poor candidate experience with the talent acquisition team. My main point of contact was not clear on the interview process, every time I did well in one phase of the process I was told "you're going to the next round" without any overview of the remaining steps. There were several times when my emails went unanswered and communication was lacking. For example, I was contacted to schedule an in person interview and when I responded with my availability, it took over a week to get a response after sending several unanswered emails (this person was not out of the office either). The day of my in person interview I received a frantic phone call asking for a time change with only 2 hours notice due to this person not checking emails and communications from the hiring manager the day before. Once I arrived to the meeting spot, I was not provided with directions on where to go inside the building or who I should contact once I arrive on site, resulting in me walking all around the office complex and being two minutes late to my interview even though I arrived 20 minutes early. Lastly, when all interviews were complete she gave me a date to which I would have a final decision. Unfortunately, she did not contact me on that date which made it evidently clear an offer was extended to someone else and they were waiting to notify me until the other candidate accepted.
