Following a positive introductory call with the recruiter, I participated in a coding round. The interviewer presented a complex database design challenge involving multiple functions. While I actively discussed my thought process throughout the coding session, I received minimal feedback(there was a pin drop silence from the other side).
I successfully completed all but one method of the program, with the remaining method partially functional. The interviewer ran several testcases, which all passed successfully. However, I was ultimately informed that for senior engineer roles, full completion of the coding challenge is expected. Unfortunately, I received a rejection the following day.
While the coding problem was nice to try on, I felt the coding challenge itself may have focused more on speed than problem-solving skills.
