Negotiating with honesty and fairness will waste your time regardless of how much a client is interested in bringing you on board. Addison wants their margin and my experience serves as a warning to others that they don’t care about how you need to make a tough decision with your career with a family and your reputation on the line. They want their margin and will take you to the point where an offer is certain but is blocked by greed. I was put on a two month odyssey by Addison recruiter attending and smoking three interviews. The client created a role for my skill set and was ready to send the offer but NO recruiter wanted the margin to be as high as possible. Rate was already agreed upon but greed has a funny way of intervening at the right time. Lastly, be careful dealing with the recruiter and account manager games.
