Everything went well, except for the final coding interview. They gave me a soft pass after I strongly passing all the tests.

The overall interview process was smooth. I was able to select an interview date efficiently, the instructions were clear, and the people were friendly. I also appreciated Affirm's transparent culture, especially their willingness to provide interview feedback. However their systems seem to broken or the last interviewer was not honest to report my performance.

I remember enjoying a great conversation with the interviewer about my background and skills before solving the coding questions, and we had a good vibe throughout the interview. The coding problem was fairly easy for me. I solved it quickly, passing all the test cases. There were follow-up questions, which I also completed successfully, and then the other additional follow-up questions that I still handled without issue. After the interview, I told my wife that I nailed it.

I did struggle a bit during one of the BQ rounds (performed well for another BQ round), but I thought the worst-case scenario would be continually interviewing with another team since I passed the technical rounds.

To my surprise, I didn’t pass the final coding interview, and now I’m frozen from reapplying for a year. Thanks to their interview feedback, I realized that I actually failed the coding round where I thought I performed so well. I’m left wondering if there was a system error causing this mismatch in evaluation or if they simply failed candidates randomly. It’s disappointing because I genuinely believed I was a good fit for Affirm.
