I applied online. I interviewed at Asana in Oct 2024
Interview
1-Call with recruiter about role details and assessing high level fit
2-Product Design Interview
3-XFN interviews
About the product design stage 1) they also ask behavioral questions (which they don't tell you beforehand when they send an info email on the format) 2)The PM that interviewed me ended up taking 20 minutes of 60 minutes interview, about their professional background mostly (which is not relevant to the product design exercise) and also gave a product design prompt which took 5 minutes for them to explain because they tried to narrow down the problem and the solution space instead of letting me as the candidate PM to narrow down the problem, target segment etc... through questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Design (product) for (target segment).
I think they keep asking the same questions as I saw the question that was asked to me here in the reviews on glassdoor.
Good:
- Well organized and highly communicative recruiters
- Interviewers were friendly and positive
Bad:
- Questions and process was extremely generic, could have been for any company or product
- Did not feel like company knew what they were looking for — seemed to optimizing for "professional interviewer" types vs. those with specific talent or experience
First round video product sense, then full loop with panel presentation + interviews with eng, product managment, and design, focused on product sense, analytical thinking and behavioral. The experience was standard.

Interview
Standard interview - phone screen, product sense interview and then a presentation + loop with stakeholders. I scheduled and attended the product sense interview, spent time preparing and an hour interviewing, then was ghosted. Sent an email to the recruiter for an update and received no reply. Extremely unprofessional, if it's not a fit it's not a fit but the least you can do is let me know.
