There was an initial phone interview with an HR manager, followed by a phone interview with a Production Manager. Next was the in-person interview, which was about 3 hours and consisted of meeting various members of the Production Team from several levels, including Production Managers, Editors, one Production Assistant. The interviews were set up in slots consisting of 30 minutes. Most of the mini-interviews were 1:1, but one slot was a group/panel interview.
The atmosphere ranged from formal to informal, depending on who was interviewing, though everyone was very nice. Each interviewer offered me the chance to ask questions at the end.
Initially, I was intimidated by the 3 hour interview format, but once I did it, I was very glad that Ascend practiced this interview method. Getting the chance to speak with employees from all different levels of the Production Team gave me a really good idea of what to expect from the role, as well as the general atmosphere at Ascend.
