I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Black & Veatch (West Lafayette, IN) in Sep 2015
Interview
I spoke with a recruiter at a job fair. I explained my intentions for my job search, and he explained to me that my intentions as an Electrical Engineer in the construction industry are valid. After a few minutes, he asked me about an interview, and I accepted. The interview was the following morning. It wasn't too tough an interview -- he asked pretty normal questions for an internship interview.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Black & Veatch in Jan 2019
Interview
Interview was very laid back and very casual. It was a two phone call interview process; one with the college recruiter and one with two of the higher ups in the department I applied for. It was my first professional interview which I thought would be very intimidating but it was the exact opposite. Great interview process, I hope every interview I have in the future is like this one.

They make sure to screen for the best, so only the best come through their screenings. They will want experience or a great reference. If the experience is not their then they ask for a high GPA. After that, you must be able to answer questions thoroughly on the fly. In what ever the application is, be sure you are an expert and bring to the table something that interests them. I gauged my audience and changed up what I was previously going to say. Be prepared I was interviewed in front of a panel and was prepared for such.
