The interview process was just like any other. I got pooled into the candidates for the role through the recruiter on LinkedIn. I never actually applied, but instead I received a message saying my background is impressive and everything else the typical LinkedIn messages say. Got bypassed for the phone screen and sent directly to the hiring manager. First interview with the hiring manager was chill and a normal conversation over the phone. After that I completed a panel interview with 2 potential teammates, followed by a mock presentation to about 5 individuals.
I’m not going to sit here and say the interview process was poor, because it wasn’t. My issue was the lack of diversity through the interview process, which is a shame in 2021, and should’ve been a red flag for me. I didn’t end up getting the role, which was extremely frustrating due to the fact you have to create a presentation as the final step. I spent time away from my current job to complete a thorough and detailed, quality presentation. After that, I received a generic letter stating they went with “applicants that better matched their needs”. With the time and effort i put in, you’d think I’d receive some personal touch to the email. Keep in mind the recruiter sought me out on LinkedIn, not the other way around. Overall, the company offers a cool product, but their interview diversity can use some touching up.
Straightforward process, just a lot of effort and time to risk not getting the role.
