I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston, MA) in Jun 2018
Interview
Initial contact was a phone conversation to gather information, then a full interview with 9 people from the lab, then contacted by HR for references.
HR never contacted me about a final decision after the interview, neither did anyone from the lab. The hiring manager is AWFUL at emailing. She never once sent me an email, I called her every time. She also assured me that the lab could work around a "time commitment issue" when I told her I could only work for one year because it is my glide year before med school. Turns out, it was the only reason I wasn't hired. They toyed with me for a full month and a half and I turned down other offers because the interview went very well and the hiring manager spoke highly of me as well. I never got a rejection email, I had to call and ask if I got the position or not.

Interview
Phone screen with director, if the job sounds like a good fit you still get a zoom interview. As long as the hours work and you have done science degree you should have references checked and a job in no time.
