      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at C3 AI (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2019

      Interview

After talking to them you'll realize soon that this is not a real strategy role. It's basically a sales role and the day to day job is writing proposal in response to RFPs. They are trying hard to position it as a strategy role but it's definitely not, (first major red flag). After applying online they will send you an assignment before even bothering to talk to you, which came across rude and sloppy. Assignment is easy but lengthy. Later in the process i realized some HR person reads the assignment and decides on your understanding of Machine Learning products and services! About 1 week after submitting the assignment, I received an email for a 30 min chat with one of their junior team members. This was another red flag but I rolled with it anyway. As expected the Analyst who took the call was lost and clueless and didn't know what to ask. I had to lead the interview and make suggestions for him to ask questions. Overall I decided not to move forward after this stage. As mentioned, position is a sales position with limited strategic thinking involved and interview process was a disaster at best. The vibe I got about their so called "Strategy" team was one of lack of discipline.

We’re sorry we disappointed you. That said, we are surprised by your trivializing the work our Strategy team does. Our Strategy team is a crucial part of our very effective (and highly disciplined) go-to-market effort. This team produces all our commercial strategic responses. These responses include an understanding of our customers’ market dynamics, an analysis of their business model, an econometric analysis of major trends impacting their competitive dynamics, a deep understanding of their business, a comprehensive analysis of how AI technology can be applied to their business processes, an analysis of the economic benefit of such projects, a prioritization of Artificial Intelligence applications to help their business, a robust customer-specific AI product roadmap, and a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis. Members of the C3.ai Strategy Team come to us from top schools, often with first-tier management consulting experience, excellent analytical skills, and a curiosity about the enterprise AI Software market.

      Interview

The interview process is structured in the following way: No recruiter screen Hiring manager screen Take-home Assignment Panel round interviews (3) Final round While the people that I met throughout the process were great, there were times when certain parts of the process fell through the cracks due to a lot of it being automated. It was difficult to get a prompt response from your "recruiter" who I never spoke to other than email communication. The timelines weren't very clear even after I had attended an on-site panel interview, and there was no follow-up that they had mentioned from their side.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at C3 AI in Apr 2022

      Interview

After 3-4 weeks, I received an interview call after applying directly on their website. The following are the steps of the interview: 1. Screening resumes with a team member 2. Writing Assessment 3. Panel Discussion (with 3 team members) 4. Hiring Manager I have to keep in touch with them at all times after each stage. After the resume screening, the entire procedure took over 10 weeks. Even after all of this, the recruiting manager had no idea what was happening with the interview. After my interview with the hiring manager, I received a standard email stating that they are unable to move forward with my application. When I requested for feedback, I learned that the hiring manager was unaware of my application's status. He requested that I wait two to five days for a final determination. As a company, they should be empathetic to an applicant who has spent a significant amount of time interviewing with them. They should provide a feedback or proper reason for rejection. Interviewing a large number of candidates is used as an excuse to be not able to provide a small feedback to an applicant.
