The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cisco (San Jose, CA) in Aug 2010
Interview
Initial phone interview with Sr. Engineer.
On-site interviews with 6 people (2 managers, 2 Tech Leads, 2 Sr. Engineers).
They asked about my prior experiences and the reasons for leaving previous jobs.
Everyone seemed nice and friendly, and the working environment was excellent.
The only letdown in the whole interview process was dealing with HR people. Simply they don't follow up.
I had to contact 2 days before the interview to setup a travel arrangement. Constantly reminded them to process my travel reimbursement. Called and emailed them several times to get the response.
They are NOT proactive at all.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cisco
Interview
Brief screening at university Career Fair, then one 1-hour on-campus interview consisted of a few not-too-technical and situation questions, about my resume, school projects, and outside experience. I was interviewed by 2 Sr. Engineers.
