The phone screen was very straight forward, explain resume details and your expectations of a new role, basic skills questions, etc. The recruiter was thorough in explaining the training process and was able to adequately answer my questions. Was informed duting the call that I would be moved through for a face-to-face.
Two weeks later I had an in-person interview with 2 managers. Very cold, no attempt to make any type of friendly conversation. Asked a series of textbook interview questions off of a list. "If you could write a book on sales, what would your 5 chapters be?" Nothing related to the actual job responsibilities. No information about the company. Did not portray the positon or organization in a positive manner whatsoever. I performed hours of research, prepared multiple demonstrations of my accomplishments, and put together great questions but was not given the opportunity to present any of it. It was literally question after question of textbook sales topics.
After one week, I called the recruiter for feedback. Did not get a response. 7 days later I received an auto-generated email saying I was not selected. (There was one opening and 20 candidates interviewed) Had I been selected, I would have declined. Not the type of company I would be proud to work for. Everything about Cook felt "auto-generated" and bland.
