Contacted right away after applying online for frontline staff role (Case Management), set up a phone interview with a recruiter. This one was a basic phone interview with typical questions which escalated the interview process into one for a manager role with the same team.
A second interview was set up for a month later but was actually bumped up to only one week. This interview was stressful. It started with an informal tour of the facilities, which are impressive. You get a good feel for the environment and overall personality of the organization. Then was in interview with two individuals, one of which was linked in through teleconferencing. One individual was very laid back and easy to chat with, the other was strictly business and somewhat intimidating, although he was clear that he was sort of tight on his half hour schedule for the meeting.
It felt fairly obvious early in the second interview that they were looking for a much more data driven person for the position whereas I consider myself more service or support driven. Neither is wrong or better/worse, just different approaches to leadership.
I still feel strongly about the company, it’s culture, commitment to staff and future, but this position would not have been a good fit for either side.
