Cox Automotive Software Engineer I interview questions

After applying and speaking to a recruiter on the phone, I was sent a PDF of their entire interview process. I'm interviewing at multiple places and Cox Automotive was by the far the most straightforward and organized from the beginning. No surprises, and they seem to have streamlined their process pretty well for both themselves and the candidate. The phone screening was followed by an hour long technical screening over Teams. After talking about my background and answering some tech questions we proceeded on to a coding challenge. The interviewer used a browser based system that let him see what I was doing, no authentication required on my end, no screen sharing, and it was pretty well done. Admittedly, I stumbled on the coding challenge at the end due to not doing enough "leet code" type preparation. I was not offered a position. It's a shame, because I know I could have done the role if hired, but that's just how this industry works. But here's the interesting part (that got me to actually write this review): in their rejection email, the interviewer actually gave me some real itemized feedback including some steps that I could take that would help me improve. His advice was constructive and honestly seems to be on track. I intend to take his advice and I appreciated the actual feedback. Despite not getting an offer, this was overall a positive experience. And I say that having had several very negative experiences interviewing at other companies.
