I was first opened up to this position as another blooming path to forge a career. It was made explicitly clear they wanted someone with more casting experience and/or an established career path in Casting. My thoughts are that this defeats the purpose of an "apprenticeship", since the point is to learn from the onset. Asking someone to come in with the experience that you're supposed to receive once in the position seems counter-intuitive.
