I applied through an employee referral. First I had a phone call with the hiring manager, then an extensive virtual interview with the team (would normally have been in person). The team interview included me giving a 30 minute technical presentation, questions, then 7 separate 30 minute interviews with 1 or 2 people from the team. One of the interviews was with an HR rep who went over all the benefits. There was ample opportunity to ask questions and get to know the team.
The hiring manager made a verbal offer over the phone and gave me some time to think it over. We negotiated a few days later and then I received a formal written offer. Overall it was a very professional and positive experience. They were very communicative and seemed like any delays were because they're very busy.
