#1 - Phone Screen went well, HR screener gave impression that this was an active recruitment and EAIG wanted to fulfill the role promptly. We discussed experience, credentials and reasons for leaving my current employment. I found the call to be a very positive experience. I received an inquiry regarding a face to face interview and a date/time was set two weeks later.
#2 - Face to Face. I arrived promptly and was dressed for the meeting. Seated in lobby and handed a generic recruitment folder with job description, benefits and press releases on EIAG and recent merger. Approached by interviewer who referred to me by another persons name twice - and only after I verified my name and the position I was interviewing for did we proceed to the elevator. Entered conference room and began dialogue regarding my previous experience including education and long-term goals in the field. Second interviewer was much more relaxed and approachable - first lady seemed perturbed that I recognized she was not prepared to interview me and did not even know a candidates name. Interview closed with standard recognition of interview process and that they would be in prompt contact regarding decisions. I was introduced to other team members on the walk out and casual discussions regarding hobbies etc. I found the office to be very relaxed and conducive to effective working. Overall it seemed like a mutual connection through the interview process and post-interview walkout.
I followed up the interview with a simple Thank You letter to each interviewer and mentioned my enthusiasm to moving forward. I received ONE response back which was a "We are evaluating our needs for the position will keep in contact" I have not heard anything since - not even a considerate letter thanking me for taking half a day off of my life/work and making the drive to Lancaster for an interview. It was a disappointing end to what appeared at the onset as a huge opportunity for both EIAG as well as myself.
