I was contacted by a recruiting person who assigned me a task with a three or four-day deadline. After submitting my work, I heard nothing back and felt uncomfortable about the lack of communication. Upon finding the managing person's email in the assignment sheet, I reached out for clarity. The managing person then arranged interviews, including presenting my assignment to the team and speaking with stakeholders.
Despite the thorough interviews, I received no updates. I followed up twice with the managing person before finally hearing back from the recruiting person after 2.5 weeks. The recruiting person claimed to have left voicemails regarding my candidacy, which I never received. A simple email would have sufficed. Instead, the recruiting person chose the most convenient way for himself, neglecting to ensure I received the update.
This interview experience left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. From investing time in a detailed assignment only to be ignored afterward, to not receiving official notifications, the process was disheartening.
