(TBD on offer, hence “no offer” indicated in required field)
Recruiter reached out to me and we discussed the role and my relevant experience within the week in a 30 min call.
A week later, a 30 min virtual meeting with the hiring manager was scheduled. This is way too little time for questions asked.
First 10 min spent on introductions.
Next 15 min on experience questions for me.
Last 7 min (went 2 min over) I spent awkwardly rushing to ask my 3-4 questions about the team and timeline on next steps. (I usually have time to ask more about culture and management style, challenges they are experiencing, etc to better gauge if it’s a right fit for me).
It was the last meeting I am sure for the interviewer, and I could sense low energy. Good experience overall. I’ve also been out of season interviewing myself, so I left pessimistic about next steps. TBD on movement, but I am not expecting any further movement as there was not positive feedback about getting to know me or expressed excitement towards next steps despite mention of the company typically not conducting more than 4 interviews before an offer is made (though, 3 is a lot personally to include prep time).
From what I understood, the team the HM is hiring for is to establish and grow a new team with current employees holding between 8 months to 3 years of tenure. PMs in this team are additionally responsible for running and leading scrum teams, so I think this may be a fit for someone interested in that hybrid exposure rather than pure PM focus on strategy, vision, KPIs, customer engagement.
