A few days after I applied for the job, a recruiter emailed me with a link to an online technical assessment. The assessment took about 1.5 hours and it covered SQL, Python, and some free-form situational questions.
I was then invited for an hour-long zoom interview, and this is where the process started getting weird. The recruiter repeatedly reminded me that I needed to start using the Fetch Rewards app prior to my interview. I mean, I get that familiarity with the product is important, but the way they promoted it during the interview process felt a little shady.
The zoom interview was mostly focused on background and experience. I was ultimately rejected, and was told that I had no material engineering experience. They had my resume from the start, so I don't know why they wasted my time with an assessment and interview if they didn't like my experience. It was kind of offensive, honestly.
