For the initial phone screen, the recruiter was visibly impaired: slurring words and using profanity. I was surprised to be informed that I'd moved on to the next round where I met a number of peers in other verticals and a few of the people team including the Head of Talent. Finally, I met with the hiring manager and then the same recruiter (not inebriated this time) and another who arrived late did not have her camera on, and did not respond when addressed. I still felt confident that I was among the top candidates and was a little let down that I was not selected but I understand that you can't win every time. What was really insulting, however, was that my rejection came in the form of an email from the recruiter I had never interfaced with "vs. being put on the spot on a phone call". This after I'd spent hours preparing and taking time off to interview. A VERY poor way to treat candidates.
