      Sales Representative Interview

      Aug 14, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Colorado Springs, CO
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Globe Life (Colorado Springs, CO) in Aug 2020

      Interview

This is a company I would warn people to stay away from and I had to pull out of the interviewing process because it (the company and the interviewer) were so off-putting. - My first interview was via Zoom and my interviewer was almost 20 minutes late to the meeting. Having been a hiring manager most of my career, I found this to be extremely unprofessional and just plain rude. - The interviewer never really asked any questions. The whole interview seemed to be just a selling on the company and why working there is so great. - He NEVER. STOPPED. TALKING! This guy talked a mile a minute and went off on completely irrelevant tangents. I basically knew his whole life story by the end of the second interview. Frankly, it seemed like he was more than hopped up on caffeine. At least I hope so, because it would be more unsettling if he was that manic *without* substances. - I accepted a second interview because I was told this would be the one where we’d cover more of the nitty gritty details and I was hoping to learn more about the actual role and if it would be a good fit. NOPE. - The interviewer was 25 minutes late for the 2nd round. - The first 5 minutes of the interview were him trying to find his coffee and leaving me to stare at a wall. So technically, he was 30 minutes late to the interview if you include the wasted time. - I asked about what the day-to-day would look like. Rather than giving me an overview, he pulled his screen to show me what we’d be doing. Which would be great if he wasn’t showing me his actual clients’ information! I could see their names, phone numbers, some addresses. I’m not sure how Globe Life does things but if I was a client and knew this, I would be horrified. - The rest of the hour was more of him telling me about his life and trying to sell the company. I actually kept track on a notepad during the interview. I spoke three measly sentences during the process. That’s how much this guy talked. By the end of the 2nd interview, my face and neck hurt from all the smiling and nodding. - I figured I could get past all of that since there was WFH potential and the salary was great. Here’s my biggest issue with the whole process: They straight up LIED about the salary in the job posting. The salary was posted at $50,000-$60,000 + Comission. Turns out, no, it’s entirely commission. Very pyramid scheme-y. And it was like pulling teeth to actually get that information. He kept trying to weasel out of the question. He finally said, “You tell us what you want to make, and we’ll show you how to get there.” Which is basically every MLM’s mantra. The whole thing was an offensive waste of time.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Globe Life (Birmingham, AL) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Group interview setting was weird, odd pacing, and overly fast timeline to start. Pushy questions like rate 1-10 how ready and excited you are to start working. Higher up walking in mid 2nd round interview seemed like an odd tactic. Overall did not seem like a place that I would want to work

      Interview

It was a three point process and the first one was a video that was definitely recorded, but made it seem like they were talking to you. Then they double messaged me so I got set up for the Video twice, but I have an interview and we’ll see how it goes.
