Applied online for a different position, received an email with a request to set up an initial phone screen/interview. This was basic and brief, tell me about yourself, background, experience, why ZenPayroll, etc. We discussed a different position and was contacted by another recruiter with another brief phone call.
Next was the written assignment portion. The recruiter informed me that most spend 6-10 hours on this portion. I probably spent 10-12 hours. Simple, 3-part assignment, but little direction and I was told it was one of the most important parts to the interview.
Last was the in person interview. Scheduled to meet with three people. One was the hiring manager. The second was someone in the role I was applying for. The third was a manager from the AE team, but this person was a no show. Very conversational interview with a few random questions thrown in.
Positive experience during the interview and with the recruiter, but I did express I recommend even a quick in person interview with even a recruiter first so that I didn't spend all that time on the homework assignment. This is why I rated the experience "no opinion."
Was not selected because I was too competitive, too different/senior coming from enterprise and would be bored, and they didn't think I wanted it. Strange feedback, but probably not a good fit if you're an aggressive salesperson. Would be an awesome company to work for though.
Oh yeah, be sure to wear clean socks or get a pedi before hand!
