Preparation of a ten minute presentation with solutions to increase recruitment and help with retention. Firstly I was greeted by the Care Manager (a lovely woman - very warm and friendly). I then was introduced to the Owner of the franchise. I was firstly asked questions about myself and my work history, then I delivered my presentation pertaining to the above, finally I was asked some skilled based questions suitable to the role, and regarding my availability. The role was for a 16 hours per week post.
They asked me whether I had recruitment / community contacts within the Deeside area; I was unaware they required these. I explained that within every role I have ever had (community based or otherwise) I have never had any contacts initially; I always worked to achieve these and did so successfully via the solutions and options offered within my presentation. I feel they wanted these in place; but as per my CV they would have seen I did not have these as most recently I have worked to establish my own company up-cycling furniture, within HR and training in a different geographical area, and also abroad as a Community Development Officer and a Teacher.
They also queried social media experience; Wordpress was something they were unaware of and also they were interested in which social media sites I preferred.
They also stated they liked my presentation; my ideas and the fact I had covered lots of different info throughout this. I also provided them with a print out of my presentation with extra notes covering further ideas and solutions to recruitment (not all covered during the 10 minute presentation).
I was unsuccessful for this role; although I have had immense experience within recruitment and also community development (here and abroad). I gained no feed back from the interview, merely an email stating I was unsuccessful. A phone call would have been more professional and an explanation; especially after the time and effort I invested in the process. One thing to note; I was offered the role of 'be-friender' with this company a few months ago. I have no experience at all within this remit. I turned this job offer down as I felt the hours were too sporadic for me. Perhaps this decision I made was also reflected upon for the outcome of the Coordinator role; I can only surmise with no feedback.
