For this example, my ciient's problem involved several 3rd parties (hardware and software). My team took the lead on coordinating the discovery - which included the client's participation, solution recommendation, and co-managed the project with the client to resolve the issues. We were their partner, not a vendor. Excellent relationship during and after the soltuion.
