I thought I performed really well, but I think they were looking for something different. (3 rounds including a super day - about 6 hours , oof)
The interview process at IQVIA began with an introductory session led by Eric Knight, where he provided an overview of the company, its analytics framework, and program details. Multiple locations were offered, with the program set to start in October. Flexibility in transitioning between roles was emphasized, which aligned well with my career goals.
The second round with Alesia and Daniel focused on behavioral and technical questions. Alesia asked about my knowledge of IQVIA, why I was interested in the role, and how I handled challenging situations like making decisions with insufficient information or resolving disagreements with managers. I also shared a project I was proud of and discussed my primary motivations and goals. Daniel's questions delved into determining KPIs, industry trends, and my compatibility with the role. I discussed time management strategies, balancing leadership and teamwork, and my greatest career achievements. The session was challenging but insightful, and I felt confident in my responses.
The case study required analyzing data provided the day before, consisting of several tables in Excel. The task involved answering questions about market share, sales, and promotions. With only one hour to analyze and create a three-slide presentation, I used Excel charts and bullet points for efficiency. While time was tight, I managed to complete the task and submit it on time.
The Leadership Potential Panel featured senior members Samuel and Galena. They asked questions about my long-term goals, primary motivations, and handling challenging situations, such as conflicts with managers or unmet expectations. We also discussed leadership qualities, professional composure, and real-world evidence. While I felt confident overall, I found it challenging to gauge their reactions and rated this session 7.5–8/10.
The Analytics Delivery Team Panel with Eric and Maya focused on leadership and group dynamics. They asked what drives me to join the academy, how I handle conflicts, and what I bring to group discussions. I shared examples of my leadership roles and areas for improvement, emphasizing my eagerness to learn. While Eric seemed receptive to my responses, Maya appeared more critical. Overall, I rated this session an 8.5/10 for its insightful and balanced discussion.
The Technical Skills Panel with Pramod and Xiaotong explored my data handling capabilities and experience with tools and technologies. I addressed scenarios involving missing data, discussed past projects, and presented my work through a deck, which sparked follow-up questions about filtering noise and deriving real-world insights. I also asked about the balance between consultancy and analytics at IQVIA. This session felt highly engaging, and I rated it a 9–10/10.
The final session involved a presentation to a large group, including all previous interviewers and other candidates. I delivered a concise, articulate presentation of my analysis, handling most questions confidently, though I stumbled on a number briefly. During the Q&A, I discussed strategies to revitalize a product, explained significant market data, and proposed additional analyses if given more time.
