I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Illumina (Bengaluru)
Interview
Interview process includes
1. Written test (C#, Angular, SQL)
2.Technical - C# and Angular questions and some managerial questions based on situations
3. Design interview - Will ask to design any problem with detailed granular level information.
4. HR
The interview process was three steps; initial interview, task assignment and panel interview. It went smoothly and the technical interviews were nice and interesting. The task assignment was suitable to the job position.
Applied through LinkedIn, the process started with a couple of phone interviews with hiring manager talking mostly about my latest project. Then I received an offline programming challenge to implement on a language of choice (Python in my case). The problem was well described and was not too much difficult to solve, took a few hours to do. After turning it in and one iteration of bug fixing I was invited on-site.
The on-site was quite usual rounds with couple of people at a time from different R&D and QA departments, even from abroad. Only one thing was new for me - I had to start with 45m presentation to the whole team talking about a project mine focusing on technical issues. I was not happy how it went, it was actually good and helping experience. It was also a call with HR person with usual idiotic HR questions "describe yourself from your college point of view..." etc. Ended having launch and talk with the manager where we both peacefully decided not move on because of some lack of match... The overall impression is very good - adequate and friendly manager and a team, well built interview process, nice place.
