I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Irmo, SC) in Apr 2015
Interview
My friend informed me that the shop he worked at was looking for an in-shopper and told me if I was interested I just needed to go talk to the manager.
We sat down in a booth and discussed what I was looking for in a job, and what would be expected of me as an employee. After we talked I was told that if I was still interested, I should come back in a couple days with the menu memorized and we would talk more then.
When I came back and subsequently proved I had the menu memorized, I filled out paperwork and started training the next day.
They ask you to memorize the sandwiches and the ingredients in them. They make you come back and write the list and ingredients out. You are also asked standard interview questions.

Had me memorize sandwich list and rewrite it on a sheet of binder paper. I had to write each and every single one of the ingredients in each and every single one of the sandwiches that they offered on their menu. I had to do this perfectly.
