I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jones Lang LaSalle
Interview
My interview experience with JLL was not what I expected from a global organization with a strong reputation. The hiring manager came across as judgmental and seemed to make assumptions about my career history based solely on the number of roles on my résumé, despite the clear context I provided around layoffs, contracts, and acquisitions.
There was a noticeable bias toward candidates with “traditional” career paths, and instead of curiosity or conversation, the tone leaned toward criticism. The manager also emphasized the importance of education and self-awareness while overlooking the fact that I hold an MBA — something that was clearly listed on my résumé. That mismatch came across as dismissive.
Overall, the interview felt less like a two-way dialogue and more like defending my background to someone who had already made up their mind. I hope JLL continues to invest in interviewer training that promotes openness, respect, and an understanding of modern career paths. Flexibility and resilience matter — and many strong candidates today don’t have the luxury of a linear career story.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Jones Lang LaSalle (Chicago, IL) in May 2024
Interview
Applied online and got a request for a recruiter screen shortly after.
The hiring manager interview happened ~a month later after a few follow up emails to the recruiter. The HM interview itself was via teams call and very laid back, more conversational vs your average interview.
The next round was with the hiring manager's boss and that was moreso your average video interview (situational questions, background, etc.
Ended up getting a written offer ~a week or 2 later.
Overall, my interview experience with JLL was good, although it seems that the recruiters aren't very responsive.
