I followed the STAR method and first checked whether the interviewer was familiar with the product domain. Although they confirmed that they were, it became clear during the discussion that this wasn’t the case. This lack of openness may partly explain why the hiring process for this position was reportedly prolonged and unsuccessful, based on feedback from my connections.
