I applied online to what was very clearly a recruiter position. After submitting my app, I received a call 5 minutes later and scheduled an interview. The brief phone conversation was odd because the recruiter asked if I was interested in a customer service job too. I thought that was wierd since I specifically applied to a LaSalle Network recruiter position. Ultimately I dismissed the oddness because my work history is customer service oriented.
Then, I was rereading my confirmation email the day before the interview and thought the wording was odd. After rereading it, it seemed as if this would be an interview for their services, not an internal position. I was able to get my contact back on the phone and after about 5 minutes of rewording the question, "is this a job within LN or an interview for their services," the woman finally said it was an interview for job placement.
That is a disgusting business practice and it seems other people have had this experience. They post internal LN positions and then bring you in to offer their services. Very sneaky.
Obviously I did not go in for the interview because I literally just started a job search and don't feel I need to pay for services. Too bad, I was actually interested.
