After a rather long process of working with two attentive and helpful outreach coordinators, I was invited to a phone screen. This phone screen ended up lasting eighty whole minutes. About an hour in, the interviewer asked for my exact undergraduate GPA. I graduated three years ago, have held multiple professional roles since, and am starting on a graduate degree. He said "I'm going to say what's on my mind; most people who work here have GPAs of 3.8-3.9." I wish if it had been so important it would have been asked earlier. They rejected me many weeks and e-mail inquiries later, though he said he would have a response in about two weeks.
Throughout the process everyone I talked to at LLNL including the interviewer were friendly and knowledgeable.
