Linux platform specific questions: What exact error is thrown when access violations happen?

i think they were afraid that you spent too much time on microsoft stuff and wanted to know if you at least knew where to go to if you found an unkown error on linux.

they were probably afraid you would say "if check the error in msdn" :)

Segmentation faults - Despite my telling the interviewer that I have worked on Microsoft platform for the past 4 years, he kept on asking me Linux specific questions. General interviews consist of algorithms, OS concepts etc and very few companies ever go in and ask for specific kernel bugcheck number that is thrown, etc. Yahoo's interview structure is not good.
