The initial interview with department head went normally, asking about experience and having me role-play a sale... It was when I was introduced to the GM that things got wierd. He asked why I left my last position, and I told him I had disagreed with my previous boss...then he asked why I wouldn't disagree with him? I had thought it would be easy, as few people could be as difficult as my last employer... I was wrong!
He then wanted me to demonstrate empathy by asking him questions to get to know him. Inside 60 seconds I knew enough about him to not want to work there (abusive, even to family; determined to be the smartest man in any room; etc) He said I did it wrong, and demonstrated what he wanted: asked me about hobbies, and I replied gaming. He then went on to explain that gamers aren't the losers he always thought, that he tried it and decided gamers weren't losers after all... My turn again! Ask questions of other manager...he cut me off after 20 seconds, told me that I wasn't a fit.
Good riddance!
