It was quite a relaxed and comfortable process. The different members of Leadership that I spoke with were open to all questions and responded in a very informative and professional manner.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you were to be offered a position with Macy's, what is one thing you would like to accomplish?
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Macy's (West Valley City, UT) in May 2014
Interview
The interview lasted about 45 mins with the Store Manager and the HR Manager together. Almost all of the questions were situational. Having an understanding of Macy's greatly helps (I was an internal transfer). As an internal and because of other things I had done I was able to bypass many of the requirements a having already been completed (background checks, etc)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Almost all of the questions the Store Manager asked were roughly phrased as "Your role is ____, what would that interaction look like?" The reason it was difficult is simply the phrasing "what would that look like." I assumed (correctly) that he was not being literal but it's not so I was left trying to figure out what he meant.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Kansas City, MO) in Jun 2012
Interview
I submitted my resume and cover letter online. I received an email asking me for an interview. I set up an interview time and went in for the interview. I was offered the position after other interviews had been completed. I have had to go in and sign documents for a background check.
