Manpower interviewed me twice for a position within their team. There were two full time people in the office and I was initially really keen on securing a position with them due to their global status and generally great reputation. During the first interview with the general manager I was told that the previous management basically did a really bad job and that we were in for a hard slog to fix it.
Despite this, I was still keen on the job and looking forward for a call back by Monday as he advised a decision would be made by then. Wednesday came and still no call so I took it upon myself to make contact. They'd had a really busy week and had not had time to go through the full recruitment process and said they would give me a call by Friday. Still no call on Friday but on Monday I got a call for a second interview- not because they were having a difficult time trying to choose between applicants but because the recruiter there had requested to interview me to "see if she liked me".
Going back in for my second interview with both the GM and the recruiter, I was asked the same quedtions, however, felt weird about the reason why I was there a second time.
I was told in my second interview that I had the job and was given an induction pack to fill out. I was then told that there were cognitive and personality tests that I had to pass but was advised that this was no big deal.
I completed the pack and started on the cognitive test and passed this with an average score. I was then told by the GM that HR were looking for someone who could pass the test with results in a higher percentile but they would still like to go ahead, I would just have to provide justification as to why I think I should be hired. Feeling a little confused at this stage (due to having already been made a verbal offer of a job but somehow getting this revoked) I declined the offer altogether.
