What a disaster and waste of time. I applied online, and when I was immediately contacted for a Zoom screen, things seemed promising. Inital phone screen was kind of...unofficial/casual, done by an existing developer with a heavy accent.
After the initial screen I got an email telling me that I had advanced to the coding challenge stage. This is where things got weird. I was told that I would have an hour long zoom session to do a programming challenge as the interviewer watched. Even though I was to wait to write the code until the interview, I was given the details of the programming challenge ahead of time, for my own benefit I suppose.
So being the good interviewee I was, I decided to do the code challenge ahead of time and really be prepared to redo it at the time of interview. The assignment took about 4-6 hours, which lead me to believe that they had never actually given this assignment before, since I was suppose to be able to complete in an hour.
A few days before the interview I emailed the Noom recruiter asking a clarifying question, to which there was no response.
On the day and time of my interview, I waited for about 10 minutes before my interviewer finally joined late. He told me immediately that they had sent me the wrong coding assignment, and that I could just forget about it. Instead, he paired programmed with me for about 45 minutes on something completely different. Despite all the confusion up to this point, I actually felt pretty confident in how I performed.
From there I was ghosted all together, and it doesn't appear that they have hired anyone for the position.
