I applied through college or university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Northwell Health (Bay Shore, NY) in Dec 2015
Interview
The interview process itself was very simple and painless. I met with the Research Coordinator as well as the Primary Investigator of the study and they were both wonderful! I felt at ease during our conversation and appreciated the thorough and frequent communication via emails during the process (status updates, etc). The hiring process, however, was absurd (through no fault of those I met with). I was interviewed in December, offered the position in January, and then told that I must go through the various Northwell Health protocol before I can begin (medical exam, background check, orientation/training, etc). I did all of these things immediately, yet they took TWO MONTHS to actually process any of it! I was not able to begin working at this position until March.
An initial interview with one of the PIs and a postdoc, followed by two more interviews with lab team members, and concluding with a final meeting with the PI I would be working under to assess fit and interest in the project.

Question 1
Asked me about my previous projects, and why I was interested in the lab's work.
It was pretty Straightforward, 3 rounds: screener, fellow research assistant, hiring panel of doctors and NP in research, appreciated how fast it moved until the final interview, it took a long time to hear back
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Northwell Health (Great Neck, NY) in Jun 2017
Interview
The interview process was simple and straightforward - I had a series of email exchanges and phone calls to set up a time to interview in person. I then met with several members of the team in person for a 1-hour interview.
