I applied online. I interviewed at PayPal in Oct 2025
Interview
I got an easy but tricky problem on HackerRank — it was somewhat similar to the “longest increasing subarray” type of question. I couldn’t solve it even after the interviewer gave me a hint, though they were really patient throughout the process. I realized I need to strengthen my problem-solving skills, so I’m planning to practice more on LeetCode.

Interview
The interview process goes like: 1. 1st Round: Basic Technical interview with manager and one technical lead of the team 2. 2nd Round: Take home assignment where they will ask you to implement some webserver for Forex or Restaurant using Scala or Rust 3. 3rd Round: Discussion about the assignment that you have submitted. In my view this is so far the worst ever interview experience. You complete the assignment with production grade coding. Then in the assement round they will ask stupid useless question mostly as the people who were taking my interview was not qualified enough to take the interview. They will eat up 90 minutes of your time. Even though you explain your solution properly after a week they informed my recruiter they dont want to proceed with the candidate. Seriously total waste of time.
Thank you for your feedback, we're sorry to hear about your experience. We constantly aim to create the best possible candidate experience, but admittedly things can always be improved. Your feedback is valuable and will help us understand how we can evolve our interview process.
