Interview
First round interview was very casual conversation with the hiring manager. Second round, about 2 weeks later, was technical with 2 other engineers, but not difficult. Third round, 2 weeks after the second round, was with the higher-ups on the team: 1 technical, 1 non-technical. The technical person arrived late and the other was visibly uncomfortable during the couple minutes we were waiting for him to appear. When the technical person finally arrived, he skimmed over my resume and seemed to have judged me negatively because my degree is not related to computer science and he began asking me questions about the part of my career more than 20 years prior, wanting to know how I got into tech. Although, there were positive points too, as they told me about 10 minutes through the interview “you got the job”, but that turned out to have been just talk. There was one near attempt to pose a technical question at the end, but at that point in the interview they didn't really care to hear my response and so they cut me off and then the interview ended. A few days later, I was told by the recruiter that they didn't want to offer me the job that I interviewed for, but wanted to offer me a different position. That's the last I heard. The hiring manager had been corresponding with me during the first few weeks, but then they ghosted me.

It was one interview with a lot of questions but they were not related to what I was doing in the past job. They kept asking technical questions that I had no knowledge of
