The first interview was a screening phone call with the usual open-ended questions-
'Why Podium?'
'Tell me about yourself.'
'Do you have anything that would prevent you from making the commute from Salt Lake to the Lehi office?'
I was told I would need to be prepared to have a basic understanding of Podium's product before the following interview. I asked them to be more specific-
What exactly should I know?
Will a test there be a test?
Do I need to give a presentation?
Will there be any roleplay? Etc.
I was told 'No' and advised just to get familiar with the basics of what's on the company's website.
Having worked in tech for several years and interviewing at dozens of companies, I was suspicious that this would not be the case.
Upon the second interview with the hiring sales manager, I was NOT asked anything about my professional background. I was NOT provided any information about the position I was interviewing for. The person conducting the interview didn't even introduce themselves to me. Within the first 10 seconds of the second interview, I was asked to roleplay with and come up with a sales pitch.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Pretend you are a sales rep at Podium, and I am a small business owner with a potential interest in buying the product. Ready?
Pretty straightforward, one interview with would be manager speaking about past experiences and general skills, then interview with VP of sales detailing company operating procedures. Very lenient interview process and nothing too strenuous
I had one interview and then they ghosted me despite me reaching out a few different times. They could be better about telling me no instead of nothing. It would leave a better taste in my mouth if I ever decided to apply again.
I applied online. I interviewed at Podium (Melbourne)
Interview
HR was just screening through applicants as if she just needs to quickly pick someone to fill the role and she does not listen to what you have to say when she speaks to you. Conversation was not pleasant at all, with a take it or leave it attitude.

Question 1
basic sales/BD experience questions and expectation that you will just be in the office making 60 calls a day.
