I applied online. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Portland, OR) in Nov 2023
Interview
Definitely not autistic friendly. They base their selection process off you answering the neurotypical stereotypical questions. Why do you want to be here etc. if you were inclusive to autistic people, your selection process wouldn’t be centered around a neurotypical ability to achieve success during social interactions. And it is a very understandable question to ask, why is this company not neurodivergent friendly after all of the ablest questions and tone of the selection process when you are rejected you receive an email that asked basically if you want feedback and I said yes… And I also said I’m autistic, so feedback is incredibly essential to me and literally nobody responded. They want Neurotypical soldiers to fill their roles. They do not want diversity when it comes to disability.

Very impersonal and did not get to speak to someone in person everything was video recorded. It took a long time for them to finally decline my video interview. That's it

The interview process is pretty strenuous. You do have an assessment that you have to take. Before you get the in person interview. After you do the assessment you do have virtual star question method questions that you have to answer. If you don’t do well with that you won’t get the final interview with the recruiter or hiring person. Definitely study STAR questions. They’re kinda hard. And then the final interview they do ask you a few star questions as well. You can use the ones from your virtual interview. It was really easy-going though. I did appreciate how easy the conversation was for the final interview.
