It was a group interview with about 25 applicants and 5 REI employees. We were first given a powerpoint presentation on the their history and goals as a company. After that all of us including the employees gave a short introduction about why we wanted to work at REI and some of our favorite outdoor activities. After that we were split into groups by counting off and than had to answer a question as a group. After 10 minutes each group would elect one member to share the answer they had came up with. All while the REI employees observed us and took notes on their clipboards. The question was What does good customer service mean to us. After that we were again split into different groups by counting off and than had to answer what the REI slogan meant to us. And after that all of the interviewees were asked to state what their preference was to work in.
