The interview process consisted of a typical phone screen, but the communication and the timing were incredibly poor. I was contacted about the role via LinkedIn and said that I was happy in my current position, but would be open to learning more.
I did an initial phone call with the hiring manager, who closed the call by saying they'd like me to speak with more members of the team and I would have more concrete details shortly. After ten days of no communication, I emailed the hiring manager to say if their side was still interested in speaking, I'd be open to that. I received a follow-up that, yes, they would still like to speak more and that I should again wait for their coordinator. I confirmed that I'd wait for her message.
I still heard nothing but because I was a passive candidate, I didn't push the subject. After more than a month, I received a very basic "thanks for your patience, but we're moving ahead with another candidate" email. No explanation as to why the twice-promised follow-up call never occurred, etc...
While the HM was polite throughout, the lack of timeliness, the mismanaged expectations, and the overall process felt inconsiderate of the candidate experience.
