The interview was a screening call. Basic questions about experience. I did fine, I gave roughly the same answers that have gotten me through to the second stage for every company I've interviewed with this round (10+). However, this was easily the most negative interview experience I've had. First, the interviewer was late and didn't apologise, which felt rude. Second, she clearly had very little idea about what the company actually did, and spent around 5-7 minutes of the half an hour interview reeling off an incoherent babble of buzzwords that demonstrated she really didn't understand. She asked one technical question in particular that I answered completely corrected but she hinted that she wanted an answer that 100% wasn't the answer to the question she asked. But worst was her attitude. Her manner made me deeply uncomfortable and felt incredibly insincere and dismissive. I've never had an interviewer leave the call that quickly, literally within a second of saying goodbye. I was taking time out of my day to be considered for a role they needed to fill and was treated like I was basically just an inconvenience despite being more than qualified. Cannot even quantify how negatively I view this company when they have someone like this being the first person you have to interact with to potentially work there.
