      Talent Acquisition Manager Interview

      Jun 14, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sovos (Boston, MA) in May 2018

      Interview

Started out with two long phone calls with the ex-Recruiter now Project Manager. She is a very pleasant person and was great to talk to about the company and the job, answering my questions thoroughly. After a phone call and then the Skype call, I received continuous praise from her and how much she agreed with my viewpoints and how I operate as a TAM. She immediately scheduled me for the third out of four interviews as a Skype call with the Chief Talent Officer. I knew the way the CTO conversed with me that she was not interested in me as a candidate at the beginning of the conversation. I'm not sure where the disconnect was between the Project Manager and CTO; however, as a CTO, one would think she would know how to address the situation a little more professionally. She asked me a couple of questions, cut me off, and before I had time to really ask any questions she cut the interview short of our allotted time. I received the notification that I was no longer considered for applicants who "better suited the requirements of the position", the typical generic response. When I emailed the Project Manager asking for specifics for my own curiosity and how I can better myself in interviews moving forward, I received the exact same generic response from her. If the company is not interested in me, no hard feelings, but have some respect after taking so much time from the applicants. This goes to show that Sovos does not respect their applicants, and the comments on Glassdoor are absolutely correct about how HR treats others.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked the same questions in all three interviews about my recruitment style and how I build relationships with managers. No questions asked were difficult. It was all more time consuming than anything.

Thank you for taking the time to interview with Sovos and speak with us about the open talent acquisition manager role on our global team. The recruiter you spoke with is top notch talent and I remain personally thrilled for her new career development opportunity at the company as a Project Manager. I understand our views of your interview are different. We take every interview very seriously, including yours. While we did take the full time for our interview, I apologize if you feel your questions were not fully addressed. We are very careful in the screening process to spend time and ensure we have the right fit for the job, and our interviews are designed to go beyond skills to look at the specific behaviors our recruiters need to be successful here at Sovos. I appreciate your honest feedback and response, and I wish you the best in your search for the next opportunity in your career. Colleen - Chief Talent Officer
